You play as Christine, a young woman whose grandfather was interned in a very creepy asylum on an isolated island. In a spooky, unsettling atmosphere, you must explore the grounds and buildings. There's a lot of animation: lapping sea, rolling clouds and thunder, flickering candles, doll eyes that follow your moves, someone crashing through a window... You meet other characters, a detective, a strange little girl, a sick young patient, an assistant scientist, and others.
For hints, just click on the object you want to find and it will be pointed out. The map and check list are helpful when a little lost or confused about what to do next. There is no timer or point system.
